Scott:
My mom always said, “Lucky people always take a different way to the same destination”.

Tim:
How did you get into the Mold Remediation business?

Scott:
So, I owned a restaurant in Frankenmuth. I ended up selling it after 15 years, and I decided that I needed to get away. So I ended up going out to, Idaho. I had two friends who do some backcountry skiing and just wanted to get away for a few months.

And of course, you’re used to working 60 hours a week. So, I decided to get a part-time job, and I applied and I got a sales position for Pure Maintenance.

So our first job, my first job was, it was a ranch. They weren’t well off. They had some high statue, Stachybotrys, and Chaetomium mold in their house. When I went in there, the kid was sitting on a couch. He looked arthritic, his feet were down. Um, he had mold poisoning.

So we go and remediate the house, and it was about three weeks later, four weeks later, uh, my mom always said, lucky people always take a different way to the same destination.

So I decided to go just a different way, and I was in the area of that house and I went outside. I pulled into the driveway and the kid was outside and he was playing basketball.

And it just blew my mind that he went from being on the couch and barely even able to walk to being able to be outside and shoot baskets. And it was just a, it was just a, a moment where I saw a product that could help people’s lives.
